CouncilThe Congregation Council is the legislative body which conducts the business of the church and makes decisions for the congregation between Annual Meetings. The group of twelve elected for three year terms meet the fourth Tuesday of each month. Ministry GroupsThe Fellowship Ministry Group meets several times each year to plan and implement social programs which gather the members of the congregation to have some fun and broaden relationships within the congregation. A theater party at the Lancaster Opera House with dinner following is an annual event, as is a bus trip in the summer. Property and Grounds Committee meets to discuss and plan for the care and preservation of our facilities. They schedule work days and request the help of members to get the jobs done. The Finance Ministry Group meets monthly to analyze the congregation's financial situation and make recommendations to the Congregation Council regarding our needs. Each Fall a Commitment Campaign is conducted to consider support for our ministry for the following year. The Mutual Ministry Committee meets with the Pastor and staff to review Job descriptions and provide feedback on job performance. They make recommendations to the Congregation Council regarding salary considerations for the staff. The Learning Ministry Group works at ways in which to include more people in the active life of the congregation. They schedule a variety of activities to increase and expand the relationships we share in the congregation. The Worship Ministry Group considers innovations in worship styles and fresh ways to share our faith through music. A variety of musical settings of our liturgical service are used each year to keep worship from becoming monotonous. We are working at ways to involve more families and increase participation in worship. Healing services are offered four or five times each year and we present a Taize Service monthly. The Witness Ministry Group cares for our Shut-in members by providing a "Tape Ministry" of the Sunday Service each week. They staff the Pantry so groceries are available for families in need. This is the group which concentrates on our image and works to communicate more clearly who we are as a congregation.
OrganizationsThe Women of the ELCA is the women's organization of the congregation.
Every woman in the congregation is a member and welcome to participate.
